New member and new chicken owner

Thread Starter

Hey everybody, I am new here and I recently bought a new home and with that came wanting what I want.  So trying to become self suffecient I want out here at easter time and bought 4 baby chicks.  My wonderful husband built in one day a magnificent coop with the housing and pen area attached that would no doubt cost about 1,500 but he built it out of pure imagination and then looking on the internet and their were ones on it that looked just like it.  But what do you expect out of him?  He is after all a custom home builder.  We have a grand little petting zoo, with ducks and baby chicks.  I now have a astralorp, a ameracauna, and a golden sex link and also a rhode island red.  The best part of having pet chickens is that when you feed them, they feed you back.  LOL  I think I have found my new hobby.

1 black astorlorp, 1 golden sex link, 1 rhode island red, 1 americana, , 1 splash langshan roo, 1 polish top hat, 1 lavender roo and 1 lavender lady, and 2 brown leghorn ladies, 3 white leghorn chicks, 1 golden comet chick, 2 red Rhode Island chicks, 2 peking ducks, 1 black pug, and 1 silver ferret. Loving my mini farm.

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
