I've seen some in the Marans thread, but also they say they don't hatch.

Are the chickens purple, or are the eggs purple?

Blessed with a great husband, 5 great kids, Lily the Black and Tan Coonhound, Bartleby the black Pug, Sulley the baby Great Pyreness, plus chickens, guineas, and Coturnix quail.

Silver Appleyard eggs in the incubator now.

If you are looking for purple eggs, you are actually going to need to ask for English Croad Langshan hatching eggs. (make sure you get English, not Australian).

They are incredibly rare in the US, but if anyone has them, it'd be a BYC member.

here is a helpful link for this breed:

I get one purple egg from my Marans girls. Not sure which girl it is but it just looks purple. It actually is just a white coating around a dark brown egg and can be easily washed off.
