Hi all frow.gif

We are Tonya and Kevin.highfive.gif HPIM0427.JPG

We've always wanted backyard chickens and  finally made the decision about a month ago. We live in town limits and just assumed it was a no no till I found out we can...how thrilled we were! yesss.gif I spent countless hours researching (and lurking on here) before we bought our chicks (now 3 weeks old). y 032.jpg

6 Americauna straight run (after everything I've read I realize they are prob EE) with one 95% positive roo and one other that might be a roo and 4 red productions that are much more friendly than the EEs. Doubt we will be able to keep the roos due to their loudness but I've heard that another person in town has a roo so we will see...

and designed our coop and run (aka the chicken fortress...lol) which is still under construction.

We have 2 indoor cats. Tippy

and Socks (see chick pic).

We still have alot to learn and are having a blast wee.gif

Nice to be here and share

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan frow.gif

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?
