I too have switched to the long flat feeder.. the screw type round one allowed lots to go on the floor.....But they do like to scrape around to get it. I also found that tossing some meal worms on the floor will cause the chicks to spend more time looking for food that would be wasted!

I agree Joe, we are switching to the long flat feeder, they seem to knock over the round ones with the mason jar attached. Oh do they love meal worms! I am surprised how much 4 week old chicks eat and drink. ALOT!!!
