How Steep can a ladder be from coop to ground

My coop sits up about 3 foot. My run extends from that another 4 foot... How steep is too steep for a ladder to get to the run? Its not done yet... But I need to make a way for them to get to the run... (which will be caged with chicken wire)

 

I can post more pictures if this is not helpful.

I went about 45 degree angle. They use that just fine. I've not a clue what too steep would be but do suggest you attach the end low on the coop (they'll easily hop up or down the first 6-8 inches to door) so the other end of ladder isn't too close to run wire. Sometimes they run down or fly last bit of ladder and can hit the wall. Just thinking of any combs getting nicked up on a wire wall.

 

The framing under coop is 2 ft high, ladder ends 2 ft out other side of door. Gives you an idea anyway of what I mean by the ladder does not have to be right too the door so you can soften the angle.

Very helpful. This is the angle that mine would be. They would have to hop off it to get to the run. 

 

Think it will work ok?

I put a landing on mine, so it wouldnt be to steep.

You might also consider zig zagging the way down. Kind of like a staircase in a house sometimes has a landing and changes direction slightly

I made chicken stairs because I didn't have enough room for a ramp. I also like the landing and change directions idea.

I was thinking you could attach the end of your ramp under the coop. If you can see with mine above there is an easy 8 inch step from last rung to pop door our girls step to easy. By doing that I bet the other end of ramp can attach to end of your run without creating too step an angle.
