Free Cornish X - Worth it??

Old Muscovy drakes van be tender and tasty

Out of the water bath after 10 hours

Opening the bag - see all the juices inside!

Browning the skin with a torch - if you don't have a torch, a very hot skillet, or your broiler will work

Carved - and see how nice and medium rare it still is, even after 10 hours!
And this is left overs - for tonight's dinner, maybe with some veggies and pasta - yummy

OOOPS, I posted all this on the wrong thread - So sorry everyone!

We just did our summer Cornish X butcher, so the freezer is brimming with birds for the next twelve months. Except, they are so tasty, we are going through them a bit on the fast side. Time to get us some more rabbits going!

Oh, and I got to post this pic - it's a Marans/Ameraucana roo over a Cornish pullet; I'm hoping to put him back on some Cornish to try and get some plump birds that lay olive eggs. He's only 17 weeks so it's going to be a while yet. I lightened him in Photoshop to show his double breast, the next pic is the real color

(This one was lightened a bit too)

No she is an EE I have 3 And I love their look. I would Like to get true Ameraucanas some day. And Im not doing any projects with breeding though down the road I may start. We just recently bought our house and didnt get roosters as to be polite since im the new neighbor. I already feel like they look at me like who is that crazy lady over there with that poultry farm

. But I do love all my birds and plan to add.

It's good to be a nice neighbour. Our neighbours don't mind the crowing, since the "Crows" and Ravens here make far more racket than our birds. Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a horror movies it's so loud.
