heat lamp vs 100 watt bulb

I have 3 week old chicks and  I had a 100 watt bulb for heat on them. Temp outside suppose to drop tonight hubby said to put a red heat lamp on them which I did.My chicks are all spranded out and sleeping without even one of them peeping. Must have realized it was night. Never thought about that till I changed the bulb. Poor things have had the 100 watt bulb for 1 week now and 1 of them was always peeping. Any one else ever had this happen or even thought about it. This is my first batch of baby chicks so all my info has come off of here. Thanks

Yes, it's been mentioned here before that they sleep better under red light.  And I have noticed the difference, too.

If any of them are peeping they are uncomfortable in some way. Only time mine peep right now is when I take some out of the brooder. Guess they miss their friends :)
