Some congressman was escorted off the floor today for another stupid stunt that was against the rules.  This is getting out of hand.  Do people realise that all this hype will do nothing but insure the fact that Zimmerman's chances increase for him to not get a fair trial?
 

 

Sure, I'll take this on.  It doesn't matter, even if any of this is true - and much of it is disputed.  Zimmerman had no idea of Trayvons school record or if he was a criminal.  At this point there is no evidence that Trayvon was committing any crime when he was shot.  Lots of kids get in trouble at school, it doesn't make it okay to shoot them when they are walking back to their house.  I mean, is murder okay if the victim has a spotty past history (not that I agree entirely that Trayvon's record is bad, - he's a teen - ghee whiz) ? 

Here's a more balanced report - take note - the jewelery was never tied to any robbery.  It could have been Trayvon was paid with it rather than he himself taking it - that might account why it never came up stolen. Could have been holding onto it for a friend who took it from his own family members - could have been Trayvons family members - point is, never convicted of that as a crime or burglary.  A screwdriver may be used as a tool to break into things or fix something.  Again, no crime was ever linked to the screwdriver and Trayvon.  It's silly to call him a carjacker - where do you get that from? http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2012/03/27/police_investigated_trayvon_martin_over_jewelry/

No one responded (with the exception of the wonderful redhen) to that link because it has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand. Who cares if he had a "spotty" school record and an empty marijuana bag. Who cares if he spray painted a locker. Zimmerman didn't know that at the time of the shooting. All that Zimmerman knew what that a black kid was walking in the rain with a hoodie on. God forbid. And you know, if some big dude was acting like I am just a thug when I am doing nothing wrong, the LAST thing on my mind would be treating the jerk with respect. Martin didn't owe Zimmerman an explanation for anything. He was just walking home.

Bottom Line:  The only thing that is relevent to this case is what Zimmerman knew at the time of the shooting. And the only think that Zimmerman knew was that Martin was black, wearing a hoodie, and "looking suspicious". You can't go picking a fight and then turn around and shoot your apponent when you start to lose. And as much as everyone would like to think that this isn't a race issue, if the race tables were flipped and a black adult shot a white kid, there would be no discussion. He would be in jail.

Have you been paying attention? The guy that stalked him says there was a fight.  That's just his story and the other guy isn't here to tell it. It sounds like it could have been a fight (it also may have been Zimmerman attacking the kid and Trayvon defending himself - just as easily as it could happen the other way around)  How it started, we can't know and I sure as heck am not taking the word of a trigger happy neighborhood watch bully who is trying to cover his tracks - which is what it sounds like to me.  Other than his race, why on earth would you think Trayvon had any connection to the robberies?  Was he there at the times of the other robberies?  Of course you don't know - non of us do.  But you just assume it could be him because he's also black - no other evidence, of course.  You do not know if racial bias was the reason or not - but other than his race, there is no indication that Trayvon was doing anything other than walking when Zimmerman spotted him.  What else is it than bias and profiling?  We have been robbed by blacks, that guy is black, therefore he is suspicious.  Too bad we can't go back in time and warn Trayvon not to put his hood up: "Careful Trayvon, you are black and there was a crime perpetuated by a black person here before, it would be really suspicious of you too put your hood up - so don't do it or the neighborhood watch guy can stalk you and kill you based on his "impressions" of you and your supposed intentions."   How dare Trayvon think that he can put his hood up in the USA without considering if it makes him "look suspicious"!  I know I always think about that when I put my hoodie on, and of course, if someone thinks I even slightly resemble some suspect in a past crime they can therefore stalk me and scare me and possibly confront me - with no badge and then if I fight back and start to win, he can shoot me and say it's self defense.

The same reasoning by the DA is most likely the same reasoning the kid was not convicted of his alleged crime ... lack of evidence... it set Trayvon free from punishment and now maybe it is setting Zimmerman free... my what a double standard.  Take note.   If there is blame lets blame the kids peers that gave the kid the undeserved reputation... lead by example.  Isn't attacking someone with eyewitnesses evidence?  It is more credible than a girlfriend on the phone getting hearsay. I have been accused of committing crimes for walking through a neighborhood before.  People do that when someone they don't see before is walking suspicious to them.  I also listened to the clip of him saying coon.  I thought it was coon as well until someone thought it said phone.  In my head I could hear him say coon or phone.  I know the p and c make different sounds but somehow it fit either way when I wanted to hear it.

There is no evidence of Trayvon doing anything wrong when Zimmerman began to follow him, so Trayvons past doesn't really factor into it, and Zimmerman got out of his car (for whatever reason).  If he hadn't done that there would have been no violence.  Zimmerman instigated it all by his actions.

Martin a carjacker....really?  Where is that evidence?  Where does a news organization say that?

My 14-year-old son did graffiti in a public place (it has been dealt with), and I smoked pot as a stupid teenager (a misdemeaner, where I lived) and did other stupid things.  My son, while not at school, also travels with a backpack full of tools (bmx).  This doesn't make me or my son horrible people, hardened criminals or violent.  The fact that Martin got in trouble at school doesn't mean much.  There is also no indication that Martin was violent. It also is completely irrelevant to the case.  All Zimmerman could see was a kid, in a hoodie, who "has something in his hand".  The thing in his hand that so worried Zimmerman in the 911 call was an Arizona Iced Tea...very threatening.  Zimmerman saw what he expected to see when he saw a black male in a hoodie...he saw a criminal, a threat, a suspicious person, a person who might have a weapon, a scary threat.

It doesn't matter how many times you say it - I am not referring to the gf or anything she said.  I have followed the story closely and there is no evidence that Trayvon was doing anything when Zimmerman began to follow him.  Why are you so biased that you cannot accept/concede that that is true?  It is true, name the illegal activity that Trayvon was doing when Zimmerman spotted him.  You can't because he wasn't doing anything . 

Black panther put a 10,000 dollar bounty on zimmermans dead or alive (isn't that illegal?).  People tweeted out zimmermans address which turned out to not be his.  There is racism by the pea gallery on both sides of this case.  Also zimmerman is also a minority which has not been talked about as much.
