Set 23 Call Duck Eggs Today 27/3.....Buddy's please, Duck or Chick - Page 13

Thanks all.

I have 2 little ones not doing very well still, sadly I think I am going to have to help them on their way as they don't seem to be improving.   Going to give them until tomorrow night and make a decision then.  Sad but fact of life unfortunately.

Count the campfires by glowing flames, never by the ashes that fall. Count your days by the golden hours, don't remember clouds at all. Count the nights by stars, not by shadows. Count your life by smiles, not by tears. And with joy on every birthday, count your age by friends-not years.

Very exited! Heard pipping from the silkie egg last night and see occasional movement. I hope all goes well and it hatches today. I have seen no movement from any of the others. I will give them a few more days.

Sorry to hear about the babies. What you did was the right thing though.

Okay I just checked the temp and am freaking out a bit, while the silkie egg is doing fine the temp is in the low 90 possibly 80s!!! Do you think the other eggs are dead? And the two that are still growing? I hear nothing from any of the others. Will the silkie be able to get out okay? I turned the heat up, and I would be okay with just 1 hatch, but I really don't want to kill her while she is in the shell!

It shouldn't kill them but it might delay them a bit.  Have you got the temp sorted now?

Yep temp is doing well and 1 chick is out! I have noticed no movement from the silkie egg for over an hour. But the new baby appears to be doing well and is stumbling around. Such a cutie. Its a black sex link x barred rock mix. Barred rock being the father. I am so exited to have a baby! The temp is a little over 99.5 is that to hot? or will it be fine? I am debating as to when to take him out, but am leaning toward tomorrow.  I am only a little suprised that this egg hatched as I had been watching it for really no reason, I hadn't heard anything from it, no movement, and then I come home and find egg shells everywhere. Leave for a few more minutes and babie is out!

Yay!  Congrats!     Temp sounds fine and I would leave him in there.  His antics will encourage the others to come out.

If you say so. I am worried he is moving to much. The eggs have been pushed around so much by him. He is adorable though stumbling around the incubator. I do hope he gets at least one friend.
