Most friendly chicken breeds

Pics
I guess some breeds are friendlier than others but each chicken within a breed can be different. I had 2 Barred Rock. One was complete bully to my Easter Egger, wouldn’t allow her to eat or drink, would seek her out if she couldn’t see her just to peck at her. The other one wouldn’t seek her out or pay much attention but once in awhile she would join in the “fun”. Peer pressure? I ended up rehoming the Barred Rocks. The EE was so skinny but now is beautiful. However she hasn’t laid an egg since Labor Day’18.

My EE was always affectionate so I got another. This one turned out to be an Olive Egger and is a squawker if I even go near her. She also is a bit of a bully to the pullets. Not like the Rocks were but she definitely isn’t happy with them.

Many say Silver Lace Wyandottes are aggressive. My girl isn’t happy about being picked up but she is very motherly to the flock. She is best friends with the EE and would try to block the Rocks from getting near her.

My BOs are sweet and inquisitive and you can pick them up easily.

My Frost White Legbar keeps to herself and refuses to lay in the nests. It’s an Easter egg hunt every day.

My White Leghorn is LOUD. She never clucks, only squawks like a dinosaur ! She’s the first to run to me for treats and if I’m not fast enough she will fly up to my hand to knock the bowl from my hand! She’s also the first to run away from me if I dare to try to touch her Diva-ness!

My Black Copper Marans is sooo friendly! She will get up high just to make sure I see her. She never runs and will let you pick her up for a bit of a snuggle.

Because of the friendliness of the BCM I got 2 Blue/Black/Splash Marans. They are still young but already are friendly with me. One even sat on my lap quite happily. I’m thinking Marans are my friendliest so far.

My Amauracana are so cute and sweet and adorable and almost friendly. They are still quite young. They aren’t difficult to pick up but occasionally will not be happy about it. I think they are my second friendliest breed.

My 55 Flower girls are a bit more skittish but not as bad as my Leghorn or OE. I can pick them up if I’m quick. They’re still young so I’m hoping they come around more.

These are the only breeds I have any experience with but, again, I believe individuality is a big factor.
