Will a broody turkey hatch chicken eggs?

I have a broody turkey who is going to be 2 this year. She has gone broody a few times already and I have always taken her eggs away to try and stop it. Last summer she was close to starving herself because she would not get off of the egg "spot" and go eat. A couple of days ago I decided to give her a few fertile chicken eggs to see what would happen and she is happily sitting on them.
I'm just wondering if anyone has tried this and what your outcome was.
Thanks!

My husband and I are owned by 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 ponies, 2 pot bellied pigs, 10 free range chickens,( that moved over from the former neighbors), 2 Awesome EE's, 1 Welsummer, 1 Cuckoo Marans,1 Silver Laced Wyandotte,8 Light Brahmas,3 Lavender Orpingtons, 1 Lemon Cuckoo Orpington, 2 Silver Appleyard ducks, 1 Khaki Cambell, 1 Indian Runner, 1 Blue Swedish, 1 Cayuga :-) Life is good on the farm!

Yes, we had a Beltsville turkey hen hatch a clutch of bantam chicks, but had to take the chicks away from her after just two days or so, because as she became more active, she started squishing her chicks. BUT it got her back to being a turkey, and not being broody! :)  AND we were able to rescue the remaining chicks and put them in a brooder. :)

Thank you for the replies! I am hoping for a positive turn out :-)
Cloverleaf, did she look for her babies or just move on with her day?

She just went about her business (she was put back outside out of the barn when her babies were taken away, so there was lots of distraction. :)  But she's also a super mild-mannered turkey.

I have one Midget W hatches chicken eggs all summer long every year. She doesn't want the chicks and she never hurts them.

And I can never break her up.
