You have to get this perfectly level for the water to work and then sometime it still leaks. You have to monkey around with for it to work. The handle is welded cheaply and busted off...

Leghorns are great egg laying chickens. They are friendly to other Leghorns and can easily fly. The only problems is that they are bad in the pecking order and they can make a mess of the yard....

seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

And here they are!

I find them amusing, they love to bend there heads together and whisper about me and Adam. Especially if we don't bring the food down in time lol.

They do love to follow the chickens around, and bite at them if they dont want to share the water buckets *Which is why there are now seven outside*

There names are Tattle and Tail.

I use an plastic sand box and as long as they HAVE water, they are happy

I've got 2 cats, Dyllen and Star. I have 17 chickens; 3 BLRW, 3 mutts, 2 EEs, 2 White Rock roosters, 1 RIR, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Red Star, 1 Golden Campine, 1 unknown hen, 1 Partridge cochin, and 1 Golden Polish. I also have 1 Swedish/Black Indian Runner laying on 8 eggs.

Three years ranging over an acre and my grass ain't dead yet. Around their pond (glorified backyard water feature with a waterfall and all) the grass is impossibly thick and lush.

1 husband, 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 cat, 3 dogs, 6 ducks, 7 turkeys, too many chickens of all ages and stages, and bunches of fish... Do you wonder why I'm nutts?

I have a large flock of chickens, nine ducks and a pair of Toulouse geese. One duck is a call drake and the others are Cayugas, ducks and drakes.

I have a 40 gallon black rubber trough near the coop, and two kiddie pools and a 300 gallon stock tank further away in the yard. My hens occasionally hatch chicks and a couple of young chickens drowned in a kiddie pool before I moved it further away from the coop. By the time young chickens meander over to the area with the pools, they are less likely to fall in and not get out.

I dump and refill the two kiddie ponds twice a week but just top off the huge stock tank. It does get murky, but the waterfowl absolutely love the deeper water for submarine swimming and "bottoms up" poses.

Every so often I will siphon out the water from the stock tank and refill it.

Everybody gets along. All feed is dispensed inside the coop, so everybody goes in there to eat. The ducks stopped staying in the coop at night; being Cayuags and all black, I call them my stealth ducks, the Ninja Duck Night Patrol.

The pair of geese have taken over my front porch to sleep at night. They're great guard geese, but very friendly. They just honk if there's something moving around in the yard at night (other than their duck buddies).

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, two Toulouse ganders, and four turkeys. Plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and a rescue cat which owns me. Oh. And a house silkie....
