I am glad things are well . Please pay close attention to his diet. Fats fried foods and large amount of meats his body won't have an easy time with these without his gallbladder.

That's good to hear!  I can imagine that you're wore out, too.  I hope you can get some rest soon.  Speeding healing to your son!

Hopefully today finds him well on the way to recovery.  Regardless of their age, they never stop being our kids.

Just a word of warning. Look up gall bladder diets because he will still need to change how he eats. Several family memebers had theirs removed and still has problems because they were not told about changing their diet. I had one attack and changed how i ate, started enzymes and have managed to not have another attack for 4 years now. Thank goodness I knew about the diet and enzymes from my MIL when it all happened. I advised a relative on the diet and she is doing great now. No more problems. Her doctor told her she could eat what she wanted now that her gall bladder was out but she was a mess when she did. My brother still has not listened.  He refuses to even ask the Dr about it. He is worse than he was before the surgery.

The enzymes are pretty cheap if you buy online. The diet stuff is super simple. Nothing really expensive or complicated.

Gee.  I had my gallbladder removed many years ago when I was 21.  I can eat anything.  Once in a great great while I will have a touch of indigestion if I eat way too much fat.  My SO had his gallbladder removed a few years ago, and he doesn't have any after effects either.

I don't know. it might depend on your diet and the cause of the gall bladder problems in the first place. My MIL was more of a fast food, microwave, out the box, junk food kind of person. They almost don't eat fruit or veggies at all.  My first attack was after a spell of my dad cooking every night. He fries everything. Only person I know who can make veggies that unhealthy. So maybe if the gall bladder attack is caused by dietary then you still have to change your diet afterwards. Man now I have to study this a bit.

A high fat meal can trigger a gallbladder attack if you have gallstones.  My gallbladder started acting up when I was in the 6th grade, but it wasn't diagnosed until I was 20.  I wasn't an overweight then either.  My gallblader was removed when I was 21 and I haven't had any trouble since.  Theoretically, after the removal of a gallbladder, a person will have trouble digesting fats and needs to watch their diet. With one or two exceptions, this has not been true in my case. I think it depends a lot on the individual.

I had horrible problems with diet after my surgry to remove mine , At this point 10 years later I can eat what I want to a certain extent as my body has adabpted. That being said there is no reason to try to force your body to adapte to high fat foods ect . Might as well use this time as a good reason to adapte a more healthy diet anyways. I hope he is doing well.
