I have 27 cayuga duck eggs so I will take an extra week.  I love having hatching buddies - it makes the weeks/days go by faster!  good luck everyone!

So, when will everyone start candling?

We are going on vacation next Sat. I will candle on Friday night to pull out the duds. The best part is that I will not be here to check on them constantly. The Genesis is very stable and I have been dry hatching, seems to work great. They will be ready for lock down when we come home.

Trying my best to care for; 1 Great Wife, 2 Beautiful Daughters, 1 Spoiled Boxers and Chickens; 1 BO, 1 Black JG, 6 BLRW, 2 Lavender Wyandottes, Some EEs, Black Sex Links, and just plain chickens.

Is it too late to join?  I just loaded the incubator tonight!

I have 28 bantam eggs... mixed breeds

and 14 production reds... nothing fancy.

Some of the bantam eggs are a tad old... I was really hoping the hens would go broody and do things on their own, but gave up on that.  The red eggs are all from the last 2 days so at least those are plenty fresh.

I am pretty new at this, so I'm still learning!  I did two batches in 2010 and nothing since, so this will be plenty exciting for me!

I hope everyone has good hatches!!!

Karen

I set last night! Not sure of the exact numbers, but I put around 55 English Black split to Lavender Orpington and 65 BLRW in the Sportsman for its first run! Adding some Blue and Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas tomorrow after I pick up the eggs.

Me(Brandi), 1 very tolerant boyfriend, 1 chestnut Thoroughbred mare, 2 red Staffordshire Bull Terriers, 7 barn cats.
Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, part-English Lavender/Black/Mottled Orpingtons, Blue Wheaten/Wheaten Ameraucanas, Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, Guineas.
