I came across this website a few weeks ago while looking up chicken information, and found it most helpful..
Got some new chicks last week, I am very excited since I have never raised them before but my husband did when he was a kid...What a bunch of sweet personalities! Got two of each, Buff Orpington, Black sex links, Plymoth Barred Rock, and Silver Laced Wyandottes..I was pretty scared to hold them at first but realized I need to so they get used to me and actually like me haha.. They sat on our lap a couple times while we watched tv and one favorite one was perched on my shoulder, besides all the pooping they are so much fun, cant wait til they all start laying beautiful eggs!!
