Chooks in St Kilda! Inner city Melbourne, Australia

G'day! I'm getting the impression from the neighbours that we're pretty unusual in that we've got backyard chickens (or chooks, as we call them) in our backyard, in the inner city bayside Melbourne suburb of St Kilda. Are there many Aussies on this site? Does anyone know of anyone in my area who is a fellow enthusiast?

yeah i'm up the coast in Sydney - we have quite a few here.

When I was a lad in suburban Cheltenham, everyone had chooks in their backyards.

When I was a uni student living in Brunswick in the 70s, we had chooks.

No idea what the suburban situation is these days, as I moved up the bush in 1989.

82 chooks, one peacock, 19 Boer goats and two dogs.

Semi-retired and living on a little farm on the edge of the Bunyip State Forest
