The weak chick is much better this morning. It's alert and active, but it has splayed leg. I did the bandaid treatment, and now it's with it's brother, scooting around the brooder on it's butt. It is drinking and eating though.
Candled the Maran eggs, and was certain they were dead. Did an egg topsy, and sure enough, all 4 had internally pipped, and for whatever ever reason, couldn't pip through the shell. They weren't sticky or shrink-wrapped. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe Maran shells are thicker? I cleaned out the bator, and put Monday's batch into place for lockdown.
It was a pretty terrible hatch, but I did get 2 lovely little BLRW chicks. They'll just get all the love and attention I guess.
