Blackshoulder male losing his tail feathers

Thread Starter

My 3 yr old male is slowly losing his tail feathers. He started growing in Dec and for the past 4 days I have picked up 10-15 tail feathers. Why is he molting now? There is only 1 peahen in with him. He is very well cared for (they all are spoiled) Im worried about him. I wormed them all with Ivernec begining of month in the water. Could this be why? Please HELP if you have any suggestions as to why....Thanks

Do you know when he hatched? i noticed with mine that the earler hatch grew and lost it's train earler than the late hatch.

I lost my oldest male a couple months ago and his tail feathers came out by the handfulls , i pulled his entire train out in 5 minutes he started getting his train around oct of last year.

Thats just something i noticed with the ones i have.
