EE Color Combinations

Thread Starter

I keep seeing people referencing certain color combinations in Easter Eggers that are gender specific. I was hoping someone could show some examples of color combos that are specific to a hen vs those that would indicate a roo. I'd also love to know what the colors are called. Or maybe point me towards any articles on EE coloring. Thanks!

Any color patterns that would be different are due to the absence of female hormones in a male bird.  Sexual dichromatism is found in chickens but varies with the primary and secondary color patterns.

You will have to be more specific with your question. Posting a link to another thread would be helpful.

If you are talking about silver and gold, the two alleles are not specific to any gender; they can be found in both male and female birds.
