Does anyone have any tips to share about incubating eggs? What is the best type of incubator that isn't high dollar?

Thanks! That helps alot.
Build your own - it's so much more satisfying and it's not that hard. I made two and they are working Great!!! Lots of info for how to on this site.
Wow, you really build them? How?
I saw a link on this BYC site that took me to:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=rush+lane+poultry&oq=Rush+Lane&aq=0&aqi=g1&aql=&gs_l=youtube.22.214.171.1242l3457l0l7316l5l5l0l1l1l0l204l721l0j3j1l4l0. and this thread on BYC http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/633357/incubator-ideas-post-your-ideas-for-home-made-incubators-whether-they-work-or-not page 9 has a picture of my first bator that I use for days 1-17 and the second bator I use for hatching (with the crock pot heating element) is pictured and explained on page 19 of the same thread. There is lots of great home made bators and lots of people on this site with a lot more experience making them than me - I'm a newbie but, as my husband says "you just like building stuff" LOL Thats true - especially when it actually works - when I'm done building and when it doesn't, I still gain experience !
What have you got to lose? Do the research and build your own. You won't have to spend much money if, collect the parts at resale and reuse stores.
I searched on youtube, a computer fan, water heater thermo, light bulb, plastic or syrphone container and holes. Put it all together and boom, in fact I now have two of them. The plastic cooler seems to hold the heat in much better then a syraphone container.
Thanks. Maybe I'll try it!!!
