Processed my first X today. Daughter helped... :)

I am so proud of her...She picked the chicken to be processed. She carried it to me.

She held it while I tied it up. She said a prayer of Thanksgiving. She helped with the

plucking. She did all of the clean up.hugs.gif I'm a proud Papa... big_smile.png

I asked her several times if she wanted to be there when I "Did the deed". She said yes,

but she would not watch the actual cutting of the chicken's throat. She was very instrumental

in the whole operation.

Please take into account that she is only 15 years old, she was a natural.

On a side note...While removing the innards...I squeezed the Gizzard a little too much as

I pulled it out...My hand slipped...and the Gizzard emptied it's contents in a very violent

manner...sickbyc.gif All over my daughter...hu.gif I was very shocked at her reaction...

She started laughing, then helped finish up the bird. After the bird was clean, she took a

quick shower.

I love that little girl. hugs.gif

Tomorrow we will do it all over again. Hopefully without the Gizzard Shower this time.

Second one down. She did a lot more of the cleaning than yesterday. We skinned this one and it took longer than the first one.

We will pluck them from now on...

I got her again with a little Gizzard juice...I don't know what I'm doing wrong. hu.gif

At least this time she didn't have to take a shower. big_smile.png

You should be proud. Pretty soon she will be doing it for you. It is so wonderful for kids to know how to take care of animals if the need should ever arrive. Well done. clap.gif
