My incubators and brooders are full so I am offering up a batch of my tolbunt polish eggs. I figure someone should hatch them if I can't! This flock consists of one rooster over three tolbunt polish hens and one gold laced polish hen, so the chicks hatch out as both pure tolbunt and gold lace/tolbunt splits. Our rooster, Pablo, came from Bare Necessities Farm and is a very handsome guy. Our hens came from three different sources so we have a pretty varied gene pool....as varied as you can hope to get with tolbunts. We have hatched out 4 batches of chicks from this flock so far this spring and all have hatched on their own with no help and are healthy happy chicks. We have had a couple of chicks with smaller sized crests, but most of them have good polish chick traits so far.
You can see lots of pictures of our tolbunt flock in this facebook album http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.164727840281569.44829.156195471134806&type=1
You can see the documented progress of one of our first chicks to hatch this year in this facebook album http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.256253857795633.65325.156195471134806&type=3
We have had decent fertility so far from this flock....about 75% to 80% and increasing with each batch of eggs I set. The hatch rate for the fertile eggs has been about 90% with one batch hatching at 100%. I will do everything I can to get your eggs to you safely, but cannot promise they will survive handling by the post office. Auction will end Saturday April 7th and as long as the winner pays on time the eggs will be shipped out the following Monday.
Edit to add: I forgot to mention that one of my tolbunt hens is frizzled, so you have a chance of hatching frizzled chicks from these eggs.
I had to edit this again to add a new link to another facebook album. Our oldest spring tolbunt chick, Marley, got her first adventure in the great outdoors today. I wanted to share those pictures as well. Here's the link http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.275024362585249.69988.156195471134806&type=1
