What color is this?

Eddie white frame 10 months old.JPG

The splash is no longer pure white.  He has a golden glow about him.  This is one day after a bath and blow dry.  The golden hue is either very mutt-ly, or OMG special!

His name was Pearl, because he used to irridesce purply blue like a pearl or white opal.  But he became a lttle boy and we call him Eddie Vedder.  His dad is a blue silkie, mom is blue mixed silkie/black rosecomb.  Now he irridesces brassy, yellow, gold.   He has a few golden feathers under the long neck feathers. People say he's a real "looker".  He's 9 months old.

Is this "partridge"?

Thanks

He is splash. The color is referred to brassy by chicken fanciers. It happens to birds that are white or silver and in your case splash. I have not read any research on the brassy expression; people have ideas of why it occurs but I have not seen any data that would support the ideas.

It is not partridge. Partridge in the USA refers to a bird that has concentric penciling as a secondary color pattern on a gold ground color. Partridge was also used to refer to a bird that was brown at the E locus. Partridge can refer to other variates in other countries.
