Converting a 3 tray GQF incubator to a 2 tray with 1 hatcher?

Have any of you found a way to disable the bottom tray of the 3 turner GQF 1202?  I bought the incubator used yesterday and I also bought a homemade hatcher with the same dimensions,  I considered converting the incubator to a 2 turner with a hatcher on the bottom somehow then selling the hatcher to recoup some of my money because it is unlikely I will need the incubator and the hatcher both.   I am a pretty "small" bird farm I only hatch 50-100 chicken eggs and several hundred quail eggs a year but I wanted the sportsman so I could have the option to hatch some as well as have the reliability of the GQF setup.

Here is the current setup, can I just unhook the bottom tray or will the 2nd tray turn enough to cause problems with the bottom tray if it is fixed?

If you take the back off you can completely remove the bottom tray.

I would then place it on the bottom of the incubator to give you the clearance you need to keep the second tray from hitting it.

Good luck......

I am currently planning to prepare to get ready to focus.
