My Aligator Story!

 Well, about 5 years ago in the summer we were just gradge saling, since my Mom loves doing that. Then, we came to a house which was on a hill and there was a huge tank. The owner asked us if we wanted to see what was in the tank - and it was a baby aligator! We were all really surprized to see a live aligator at a garage sale. Apparently, it was leash trained. We left, and got home. Soon after we were home, my mom went back to get the aligator, without telling us. His name was Erwin, and he was super sweet! :) Hope you liked my story.

Im a zoo keeper and have 4 alligators under my care.

real bad idea. People do NOT know how to feed them, how to take care of them, rules and permits or what to do WHEN not IF they become aggressive and cant be taken care of by the average person and sub par facility,

Crikey, and my husband drew the line at 6 cats and 3 hens!  If I came home with one of those in tow, it would be instant divorce and not just by Stephen!!!!!!!!!  Where on earth is it going to live when it grows up and is your garden about the size of Yellowstone Park?

Wow, that's really cool!!  Do you still keep him as a pet?

A friend told me I was delusional. I almost fell off my unicorn.

 

I smile because I have no idea what's going on.  :D  

 

When life gives you lemons, turn around and squeeze 'em back in life's eyes.

 

My room is not messy, I simply have everything on display for everyone to see. Like a museum.

I had a pair of Cayman for a few years... but they're fairly small.  They were taken from a drug raid in Detroit.   I donated them to a school after I had to move.  

 

They do require special care and you need to make sure they get the right nutrients, plus they're messy. 

Best to find a home for it if you don't have experience in caring for and handling them.

I'm from Louisiana, we've got alligators all over, my friend's brilliant stepdad caught one in a canal once and decided to keep it in their bath tub.  It never hurt anyone, but they aren't really meant to be pets.  I know it was probably never happy there, and it definitely made going to the bathroom at their house more difficult.  Also, as other people mentioned there may be permits you need or laws against keeping alligators where you are.  Of course, you could always eat it, if you decide he isn't good pet material, they are great fried!  But then there may be laws against killing alligators where you are.  Down here there is a hunting season and only a certain amount of gators are allowed to be caught each season.
