Lol- I never knew hatchling eggs could be so stressful. I have to force myself not to be in thee checking n them every 5 minutes and candleing them every few days is for the birds. I also have to remind myself that ifI continuously open the bator to check on them, it looses heat and my eggs wont be hatching on time...lol Anyone else with this problem?

I admit that I am guilty of the same things! I peek through the windows 10 times a day

I am quite new to BYC, just registered tonight! I haven't had chickens very long, but my brother in law got me started since he is quite the veteran. Anyways, he gave me an old incubator that he doesn't use anymore, so I fixed it up and I placed my first batch of eggs ever on April 1st too! I only have 4 Minorca eggs and 1 egg from a barred rock roo/production red hen mix. I'm super anxious to learn, but I am reminding myself that I don't know a lot about what I am doing, so I don't have high hopes for this batch. It sure is a learning experience though!!!
Glad to have you join us! What is your temp/humidity set at? Are y
