We have a Royal Palm tom that has just started this aggressive behavior. His hen has been sitting for over a month and just hatched her first clutch and is far from being interested in him at all.  At first, I thought he was just attacking the big black hay wagon I was pulling behind me.  Then, the last few days, he started jumping my hubby, who is not at all appreciative of this behavior.  Because the pinning down action suggested by Trail has worked for me with dogs, I did this to him several times the last few days when he started to move on me with the cart.  He is giving me LOTS of room now and only made a few feeble attempts toward me this morning.  I also gave him a couple good squirts with the hose I had nearby.  Once I get hubby to start the pinning thing, I'll let you know if it works. Otherwise, he's going to have to find a new home.
