Chicken Tractor Flooring

Thread Starter

i am wondering what type of flooring is best for chicken tractors?  I just finished my tractor and I used plywood for the floor for the coop portion of the tractor.  However, I am reconsidering this choice and thinking that hardware cloth might be best.  I'm finding the  chickens scratch the pine bedding on the pine flooring  and scratch it off the flooring and onto the ground.  I'm thinking that hardware cloth without pine bedding would be best??

What is everyones opinion for the floor for the tractor coop??

I, personally, woud never use wire on the poor chickens' feet.

Is the tractor elevated so there is no ground or dirt or grass?

If it's elevated, then I would suggest plywood and use a good bedding like shavings or dried grass clippings, or hay.
