dying EE chicks! - Page 3

I had the same problem.  I had gotten 4 of them from a person that had hatched them out two were a beown color and the oether two have more gray and black.  I had 6 babies I got from tsc. so I put them all together.  I was feeding them Medicated chick starter Iam keeping them in the house till it gets alittle warmer.  Anyway I got up one morning and I found some poop with blood in it so I watched to see who was doing it.  I finally seperated  the EE from the others and watched then I relized it was the two brown ones. So I seperated them by their selfes.  I was feedind them the medicated feedand also put Apple cider vineger just alittle in their water.  I did lose one but I started babying the other one would take her outside with me and I kept her by her self until I notice know more blood in the stool the only problem I have now is she/he is spoiled rotton.

yeah, when you notice the blood in their stools, your best bet is to get that medicine and start force feeding it to them. One of my latest three chicks started standing off to the side, so I grabbed her, put her in my lap, and used a medicine dropper to drop water on the end of her beak until she drank 4 tablespoons of the medicine (in water, as prescribed). It took a few hours, but she perked right up and now she's fine.

Hi all!!!!! I am back. Well I have 7 of the 14 baby's left and all It took to stop it was a digital thermometer and a lower  watt light bulb. These  are my first baby's and I thought they were getting cold  so STUPID me it took 7 baby's dieing and the thermometer to get the box to the right heat, Now I'm not cooking them,,, I learned a big lesson this time around and will not make that mistake again
