Supplement to game bird feed for Chukar

What kind of greens are safe to give to Chukars to supplement their game bird feed? Should it be broken up to small pieces or will they do what they need to it? Also, is it possible to have too much grit available to them in their cage or will they only take it as needed? I currently have some mixed in their feed hopper and randomly sprinkled on wooden parts of the cage. Thanks

I give mine dandelions every coupla days my bobs seem to enjoy them more then the chukars they also get apples every coupla days sometimes and older head of lettuce
