That sounds like a decent size to me when they have access to both areas, even the shed area sounds decent if they get locked up in there. I assume the 4-6 sq foot rule only applies to the locked up, night time area? Nine of my ducks are currently sleeping in a large stall that's at least 10x10 feet which is nearly twice as large as required space wise for them. However, I can easily see that they would be crammed if they had to always remain in this area. My ducks daytime area is a large yard that they sometimes share with my goats or mini donkeys, with the option of supervised free ranging before bedtime. However, they choose to spend this time in where my mini donkey's usually are rummaging through poop
