Baby Chicks Tomorrow! - Page 5

Thanks so much guys!  After I posted on here, I did do some searches.  I went ahead and added ACV to the water and because I was already in a panic, did a dish of buttermilk and feed.  They loved that! smile.png

After that I googled "rust colored poop", instead of "red poop" & found out about the caecal poo!  I had no idea- YAY!  What a relief; it looks like that's probably what it is.  I say that because they don't seem lethargic or sick, and I am not noticing it as much now.  So, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are in the clear.

Thanks so much for your help and advice.  I  just love the community!  love.gif

Good luck!  I'm getting some Buff Orpingtons in May.

I will be getting my order of chicks on Thursday, I hope!  I have Buff Orpingtons ordered too (along with some silver laced wyandotes and easter eggers)!  smile.png  I ordered mine back in February and it seemed to take forever.  I cannot believe this is actually chick week for me!  I hope the time goes by quickly for you!

The babies are all doing good!  I just have not been able to get some good pictures yet!  Hope to do that this weekend.  smile.png

Here are a few:

The blue box is not their home.  Just a temporary box with some fun scratching stuff for me to be able to do a pasty butt check!  tongue.png  There are 26 babies. SLW, BO, and EE.

Ours have gotten significantly less cute now that they've reached their awkward teenage years - but we still love 'em!

Here's their first foray outside:

Oh they're all so sweet!

Ours are looking just like yours, in their teenage phase. Bt I love my girls and all their not so cuteness. smile.png
They eat out of mine and my toddlers hands, and try to climb up my arm when I reach in their brooder. Hubby has started their coop and it will hopefully be complete next weekend. smile.png just in time for all their feathers.

I still think I may have one roo .. I do believe dolly is a Donny, but we will see. smile.png

Glad all our girls are doing well and growing big!

Sunflower those BO chicks are too cute.  Hope you have a lot of room, they grow fast!

Megz were just finishing our coop too, the coop is done need to finish the run.  But cant wait to get our feathered girls outside.

We also got struck with chicken Math, saw a craigs list posting that someone had to get rid of 3  9 week old hens, of course we just had to get them, but we were too late, so instead we went to get 3 more 7 week old girls, 2 buff orps and 1 Buff/Amaracauna, and wouldnt you know, there was a little deformed buff orp (she has a crooked breast plate) that the lady who breeds them to sell, said she couldnt sell her, but said we could take her if we wanted for free.  So we brought home all 4 and doubled our flock!

The little deformed one is so sweet, so glad we brought her home.  Hoping she is still a good egg layer, but if nothing else she will be good company for us!

Glad to hear things are going well for your flock!
