Hi from New Berlin Wisconsin. I am starting out like it seems a lot of you are here. I have a new coop and 2 Americaunas - Snow White and Marilyn Monroe. I'm been thinking about getting chickens for a long time and I'm glad to finally have them. I'm looking forward to finding information on the forums and talking with other chicken folks.

My avatar is my daughter sitting in the coop with the hens. We are partners in crime in hen keeping - my husband and son think we're kind of crazy.

Welcome!

Watch for them to start sneaking out to the coop to watch chickens when they think you aren't looking....

Thanks. That was my major reason for waiting so long to get chickens. I wanted a good coop but I'm not handy enough to build my own. And the commercially available coops seemed very poorly made or way to much $$. I bought mine off Craig's list. Very interesting retired gentleman building for fun. It's all cedar - I feel very lucky to have it.
