As silly as this sounds...I have all female guinea hens. They say on their second batch and nothing hatched. So I went out to observe them after reading your great posts and I do believe I have nothing bu girls....They all say buckwheat and none of them stand tall as it says the males do.
I am located in Southern Calif. (Riverside county...Sun City) I don't know of any one or place in this area that has guinea fowl. Everywhere I called said No don't carry them. I want to hatch the next batch of eggs before the laying season is over. I LOVE THE BIRDS. I have 16 acres and they room the place but come back to their house at night. I have cows, donkeys, sheep and goats in additon to dogs and cats. Everyone loves the birds.
If you know of anyone within perhaps 100 miles I would be happy to go buy a couple of boys for my very domestic girls......
