Brand new!

Thread Starter

I just got my first set of chicks on Saturday! Well we got 7 chicks and 6 Guineas. We are super excited and a bit nervous. I've been snooping around a lot on this site and have learned a lot. I need to post some pictures and see if anyone can tell me what breed they are. Our neighbor told us, but at the time I felt like he was talking a different language! I have learned so so much by reading on this site!

We have the chicken coop almost done, just need to hang the chicken wire and build some nesting boxes. Ahhh I am so excited!

I also can't wait to name them, I feel like I want to know the sex of the chickens before I give them names. I may need help with chicken names too.  :-)

How old do the chicks have to be before I post and people can tell me hen or rooster? I reeeeeeally want to know. :-)  Even if it's just a guess.

Hi && Welcome! wee.gifGlad you joined!

You can post any time really, but I recommend waiting til at least 4 weeks. At that time, you can usually get a good idea. Depending on the breed of course.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
