And you people are advocating feeding them to chickens?
An old thread, I know. But the article you linked to mentions chickens can get salmonella from mouse droppings. The OP was very quite clear that she cooked the mice. Cooking will destroy any salmonella.
Also, it's only been in recent years that all that many people have gotten salmonella poisoning from undercooked eggs. It used to be you were pretty much guaranteed to get it if you ate undercooked chicken meat, but rarely from the eggs. I read an article about this a few years ago...the amount of salmonella an industrial farmed chicken carries is massive compared to the past, the main theory for this is the fact that the number of chickens housed in an industrial farm is also massive compared to the past.
I would never eat undercooked eggs from one of these massive industrial egg farms.
