My chicks are almost 5 weeks old  They have been in the coop with the others for a week  Last night was the first night I did not leave the lamp on  Everyone was on their roost this morning just like it was no big deal  Tonight will be a little cooler but I'm going to try again  They have their feathers and just a little fuzz on their heads  Very active very healthy very cute

Well good for you!  I've got chicks that I also just put out into the hen house a few days ago, and they sound to be about the same size/age as yours.  Mostly feathers but some fuzz on their heads.  I was worried about the cold nights, so I did put a heat lamp up for them, and they're doing fine.

Mine are in a separate room from the adult birds though.  They can all see eachother, but no touching yet, because I worry about the larger hens and rooster hurting the babies.  In a few months, I'll be letting them all mingle together, but not just yet.

Take care,

Sharon
