I read the term "submissive friend" on a string one day regarding pecking order and problems with the - well, submissive friend - of the top chicken.  We now use this whenever we describe Ms. Bossy Pants' buddy.  Last night, when I was talking about chicken dynamics and mentioned the pair, a friend said -  "That sounds like something you might see on Craig's List!"

Alice is our dom and her sub is Little Brown - we call her Alice's B!tch (okay to say that here?)

I was rubbing one of my barred rock chicks I've named Falcon (she likes to jump on my fist and shoulder) under my chin because her new feathers were so soft (she's about 6 weeks and most of her "barred" feathers have grown in).

Older brother comes by. "Why are you rubbing your face all over that chick?"

Me: "Because she's so soft!" *continues rubbing*

Brother: "You don't even know where she's been!"

Me: "You don't know where the cats' tongues have been and you still let them lick you."

Brother: "Touche'."

(My brother liked the chicks more when they were little fuzz-balls. )

hahahahahaha. I have one that happened tonight:

I rush out the door with a cut-up sock in my hand

Mom: What are you doing with that sock??!!

Me: This? Oh, it's a sock diaper for the chickens

Mom: You really thought of everything haven't you?

Me: No, it was someone's idea on BYC

Mom: Where?
Me: Backyard Chickens

Mom: Whatever............

Okay, today I was at a friend's house and it started to thunderstorm, and I was like:

"Man, whenever it starts to storm, and I'm not home I always feel back for my chickens."
"Why?"
"Because they just sit out in the rain. I don't know why they don't go in their warm area."
