I started hatching my own chicks this year - it is going well but I have this one chick whose right leg must have been twisted oddly in its shell. The left seems fine but the right one sticks out straight to the side - she tries to get up and I think she will figure it out (how to balance) soon but I think the straight leg actually gets in her way. Should I try to break and splint it, amputate it, or put her down? If I am going to splint or amputate what should I do for an anesthetic?
