Hatchalong! Setting Eggs April 6, 2012. Anyone else in? - Page 15

Update I now have 19 hatched. That leaves 6 eggs 4 of those have pips and two have nothing. Not much activity with any of them but tonight at 10pm will be the actuall 21 day mark so I am still hopefull the rest will hatch.  I have never had 100% hatch so I am still expecting some to not hatch but keeping my fingers crossed it would be pretty cool to get them all to hatch.  This has been a strange hatch mine almost always go 1 day past before they hatch this time they started almost 2 days early not realy sure what I did differnt but so far I am liking the results time will tell.

Ok so the first chick poked it's beak out over 12 hours ago, it a pleated to be struggling and even screamed out several times. If one looks close it looks like the inside lining is detaching from the egg and wrapping around the chick. I had a temp/ humidity issue today. Do I need to help it out now that the liner is tightening?

I came home around 8:00 tonight and there was no movement.   I was watching TV and had a "feeling."  I went down to check and there was 2 pips!  It has begun.   I'm so excited.   I kind of hope to wake up and not see them hatched just yet, but if they want to come out during the night, then come on!  :)

Here's a picture from our first batch of hatches.  I have 13 chicks now, and 1 more should hatch in the next few days.  Most are black but I have 2 chicks that look like this yellow one, except the new one is a little more red.  The silver one is my favorite and hatched from a blue egg from my silver-laced red wyandotte.  Another blue egg hatched today but it has a lot of black.  My rooster is a black (something- I forget...not maran, though).  My last egg is blue and I'm hoping it's silver like the one in this picture.  Yay!! It was fun to follow along- happy hatching to everyone!

Yeah maybe it was the wierd weather.  Actually we had a great winter warmest in my memorie we started with a early snowstorm in October and hopefully ended with a late April one.  Hope everyone wakes up to more babies.  I woke up to 3 more hatched that leaves one egg left and there is no pips I will candle and water test it tonight when I get home from work.  This has been my best hatch ever even if that one has quit. I did have one hatch yesterday with only 2 toes and his leg is deformed I think I may have to cull him but I will give him a couple days to see if it staightens out. Seems like there is always one that is hatched with issues.

I've got my first little bugger!  I had 2 pips last night and came down this morning to see not much movement.  Ate breakfast, went back down and he already hatched!  And it was a completely different egg!   I say He, because he's been making soooo much noise.  Keeps doing the "i'm not asleep! no really!" then zonks out.

#2!

The first one that pipped, just hatched.  Little one took a while, but made it eventually.  No other movement on the others as of yet.

Ok, still nothing from the eggs. Is it safe to clean out the bator? Or should I still wait a while?

Someone died so you wouldn't have to, have you said thank you?
