different sized eggs

Thread Starter

I am working on getting some chickens but for now I am getting some from my friend that lives on my road.  I have noticed that one egg might be rolling around in the carton because it is so small and others may have to be turned upside down to fit because it is so big.  Can anyone explain this?jumpy.gif

If she has different size eggs that are that different in size, she must have different breeds of chickens!!  big_smile.png  Each breed of chicken is a little different but you REALLY see the difference between bantams and standards.  The egg sizes are very different.  I have both and I also have Silkies and I get three distinct sizes of eggs but even then, sometimes a chicken lays an egg that is just small one day or skinny and long!  LOL  Hope this helps!!  And welcome-byc.gif
