Some Users Can't Post In Forum - May Be An IE Issue - Page 2

Hello all frow.gif

I am still having to use Chrome for posting today.  When I use my IE 7, it will let me do everything but submit my written post.  When I push submit, it changes color (like the submit button always does) briefly, than back to blue instead of the little wait followed by a post appearing above.  It just sits, and lets me click submit over and over while nothing posts.  This happens at every thread I try to post at.  My PMs work, and any site that allows you to fill in the info and post like a PM works, just no "submit" at threads allowed.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

That is exactly what was happening for me until I took the advice of Imp.  It's been posting for me ever since.

Good luck,

Deb

It's kinda like a refresh button, but is supposed to help different systems work together. It's the "torn page" button circled in red. Just click on it and the screen will shimmer. Takes a few seconds then the screen will reappear.

Honestly the Administration here needs to be A LOT more open-access-oriented and A LOT more welcoming to peeps with older computers, older software,, rural slow connections etc.

Cut the excess scripts and all the ultra-fancy software and get back to basics where we can ALL talk to each other without all this SLOWNESS.

I know I will be marginalized and possibly BANNED for this post but I am telling the truth like the Soviet dissidents used to do.

This forum needs to OPEN up to ALL CHICKEN KEEPERS and not just be ultra-techie for the CITY peeps with their 4 city-allowed hens.

I used to work in an auto parts factory, which is the reason for my handle.  Chickens aren't as heavy, but they're much more entertaining than auto parts!!

Internet Explorer is totally working now, since I followed your visual directions.  THANK YOU IMP!

Rob,

As of this morning, the problem so far, seems to have corrected itself. I use IE 8, and have not done anything different. I could go anywhere and read all the posts, and even send PMs, but it would not let me post to the threads. The screen would just kind of blink when I hit Submit, then would just stay in the reply frame like Marty describes above. Now, if I could just load pics! I've tried in the past week, and ONE pic will take about 45 minutes to load, and then I get the error message saying the pic failed to load?? I never had any problems with the old system, just since the new format came on. There are many of us still on dial-up connections out here in the rural areas, it's my only option!  Thanks for looking into this problem for us! It's been like having duct tape over my mouth (fingers?) for the last few days! gig.gif

I can only post pics I've allready downloaded to my desktop - its just faster that way for me now.  (less than a minute) and instead of showing pic on reply space, it has the number/letter stuff, but the pic will still post ok.  (sorry, not a computer whiz at all)

Have you tried making the pic file size small?  If I forget to make the file size small and try to load it here or FB it takes forever and most of the time errors?

Imp's suggestion worked for me too.

Thread Starter

A fix was put in place late last night which will hopefully have solved this problem.

If anyone is still having this specific problem, i.e.,  you can send PM's but you can't post in the forum, please

  1. Send me a Private Message with your browser and version (Like Internet Explorer 8)
  2. Include exactly what you are doing and exactly what is (and isn't) happening.
