Chicken Logic on board

Thread Starter

Hello from Alvin,Tx. Just acquired 3 RIR's & 4 Easter eggers. New to this and got questions already. :D Lurked here a few times before I decided to go for it. Have a friend who raised these birds starting last easter with his girl. They are due to start some traveling and asked if I wanted them. Well about 1k later I built a enclosed and  coop and run. He said they had been roosting on a 2x4 so I installed the same the full length on the coop about 6' long, and the coop is a little over 4' wide. Now I have 2 sleeping in the doorway 1 in the window and 1 in the nesting box. lol I did get 2 eggs within the 3st hrs of relocating them. I see another egg in the window now.

  Thanks

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

Hi and welcome-byc.gif from Ohio. So glad you joined. They are just checking out their new digs. All my chickens want to roost by the windows, so I had to move the roost to the windows to accomodate them all. thumbsup.gif

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Sneak in there after dark and move them to the roost - they will probably figure it out

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?
