Just wondering why it starts on the 14th?

I have five hens and two pullets- one seven year old red star, Luna, one white leghorn, Sage, one SLW, Pepper, one adorable fluffy EE, Bedazzle, and one black star, Buckbeak. My two pullets are Nutella, my wheaten marans, thirty five weeks, (who is yet to lay an egg!), and her best friend, Sammy, seventeen weeks.

How have you determined what constitutes an "ornamental Breed"?

APA General Licensed Judge with 50 years experience raising and showing all manner of fowl.

i basically used this site and books to see which ones were labeled ornamental both site and books each had the same breeds plus some that neither site nor book had in common but the book i used is about 5 years old and i know there have also been other breeds labeled as ornamental by now. most bantam breeds i have looked at are all labeled as ornamental.

with so many different breeds (37) with their own page i am only making up to 7 pages a day as to not bump off any other current shows/contest

this site, a book called chickens by derek hall (year 2009), and storey's illustrated guide to poultry breeds (year 2007)

opens at midnight the 14th :) cant wait to see all the pretty chickens yey...

 

this again is a long contest/show and with different sources listing different breeds as ornamental made it even harder but these are all of them (i think) once the 14th hits there will be no additions so if you think you may know of an unlisted ornamental then please let me know by tomorrow and i will see about the breed. thank you

these on every site ive been on and every book ive looked in label them as layers or duel purpose chickens so in this long contest/show these will not be included. i'm sorry, i do hope you enjoy this show though big_smile.png
