Mixing Young And Old

I have 2 Doms - a hen and a roo - that are about 7 to 8 months old. The hen is laying an egg every other day. I started out with 5 Doms but 4 of them turned out to be roo's so I got rid of Moe, Larry, and Curley and kept Ralph and Alice.

I would like to have more eggs and I know of someone near me that has RIR's that are about a week old. Can I get a couple of them and add them to the coop?

I am worried the roo will try to hurt the younger chicks or the hen for that matter.

Any insight will be much appreciated.

It's safest to quarantine, then pen them near each other but not touching until the new ones are adult size.
