i only have 2 holes 1 1/2 " for ventilation, is that not enough?

DirtCreature is your bator forced-air or still air? For forced air bators you want the temps from 99.5 to 102F. 103F is considered fatal for a FORCED AIR. In the still air, because there are pockets of varying temperatures you want a base temp of 100F. 107F is considered fatal so if you're fluctuating in a STILL AIR between 100 and 102 you should be just fine.

And with whatever style of incubator you use, the more ventilation holes the better. Developing eggs generate a lot of carbon dioxide so one way or the other the air needs to flow through and out of the incubator. I don't have an LG, I have the Hovabator (both still-air and force air) both have many small holes on all sides of the bottoms, and multiple holes on top. The more holes the better! You need holes on top and bottom because the warm air rises and as it leaves the incubator it draws in fresh air from the bottom holes. So just just add random holes, the placement is important.

OK thank you! so much. I have a DIY incubator, it is made out of a coleman cooler, with an IncuKit in it. so it has a fan which i would assume means yes forced air.

THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING, I WAS ABOUT TO PUT THE EGGS IN FOR LOCKDOWN FROM THE OTHER BATOR. i would have been DEVISTATED to lose all of them

i just drilled eight 1/4" size holes in the bottoms of it in varying places. hopefully that will help.

I only had two 1-1/2 " hole kiddy corner from eachother on the top part of the cooler. none on the bottom. I hope this fixes it! im suppose to put them in like........... NOW! but im gonna wait and see about an hour to see what happens.

Hopefully it will stabablize everything.

Humidity is based on area of water, not the depth. Is there room for another pan. The sponges can help prolonged time between resupply, but can you fit more area for water in it?

I love my Buff Brahmas!  There always seems room for more :)

4 Buff hens, 2 light Brahma hens, 1 Rooster, countless chicks, 3 EE's, 6 Buff Laced Brahmas 5 GLB, a flock of silkies........ and more on the way :)
