I moved a chair and found a 1 1/2 inch hole in my rug!! The rug is wool and not even a year old. I called the place I bought it at, but then I realized that it was moths!!!!!
Any tips or advice?

Put the chair back over the hole?

Sorry, I had to say it.
Seriously though, There's a product to sprinkle on the rug to kill moths, but can't remember what it's called. We used it at the store years ago when we sold antique Persian wool rugs. I remember you sprinkled it from the can, waited overnight, then vacuum it up.

Really? I hope you remember the name. Is it Boric acid?
Thanks for the chuckle!!! Humor is always welcome!
I found this, maybe it will help. Still can't remember the name of the product though.

The hole is about 1 1/2 inches round. I ordered traps. I vacuumed like crazy yesterday, and learned that they need stuff like hair and crumbs and urine (?) to survive. I sprayed the hole with Home Defense, which kills anything that walks on it. When I vacuumed last night, my rug shed so much that it clogged the hose.
This is all complicated by the fact that I can't spray bug spray because it gives my dog siezures. So I can only spot spray the rug.
Maybe use DE? Diatomaceous Earth? It sure won't hurt anything.
That DE might be worth a try. Glad you mentioned it.
