When to give up

Thread Starter
I asked this in a thread and got told until today to give up on my eggs. I have 150 in their and have had 4 hatch 😠I just did the float test and out of the six I tried they all were low floaters. So from what I understand they are still alive and developed? Today is day 23.

It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.

Depending on your temperture inside the incubator ( faulty gauge ? ) they still might be alive and only starting to hatch now .I'm by no means a expert ,but have had eggs hatch at day 24 ? it almost seems like some start the growing stage later then day one whioch is what most people start with when they count .I have learned to start 24 hours later ,gives the egg a chance to warm up and the process to start .Just make sure the humidity is high enough so that if they do start to hatch that they aren't struggling to get out of the egg .Take a egg and hold it near your ear and scratch it a bit with your finger nail ,I normally do that and I can sometimes hear the chick inside .......in which case it's still alive and just needs time .But like I said I am by no means a expert ,I can only tell you what I've been doing and for myself it does help .Good luck though ,hope it works out for you
