Hello from upper Bucks county, Pennsylvania

Thread Starter

Hello everyone. Just returned to the "country" from the sprawl of Washington D.C. and am eager to start raising chickens again. In the past, we kept brown egg pullets (I believe White Rock x Road Island Red) from Moyer's (a local hatchery) with great success. This time around, we want to keep something more dual purpose, raising some meat birds, and trying our hand at breeding.

Would appreciate a PM from anyone in Bucks (PA), Northampton (PA), or Hunterdon County (NJ) that could help us get re-started. In addition to finding some dual-purpose birds, we're also looking for some hands-on training in the butchering department.

Cheers,

Jeff

It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
