UPDATE--Did anybody experienced such a hatching disaster....

Yesterday evening at about 8:PM I went to turn my ANCONA duck eggs in incubator and because they seem little too hot, i figured I let them cool off a bit, by leaving the cover open. I was thinking to come back and close the cover in a bout 1-2 minutes.

Then daughter came to visit with grand kids and all the commotion shuttered my memory!

This morning I went to turn my eggs over and I see the cover open and eggs soooo cold!

I covered them and hope for the best, but that would take literal miracle for them to hatch.

I'm devastated and so angry at my self.

I was turning them for so many days - Start day was March 21 and they were to be due at April 17.

Only 8 days to go!

They were developing so nicely!

Does any of you experienced such disaster and what was the outcome?

UPDATE

What a tough ducklings!

get them warm slowly and see if they will hatch give an extra day or three to hatch.

They -might- still hatch, unless your house is 45*f or something.

You answer did gave me a "ray of sunshine" - Thank you!

I did slowly bring the temperature up....and the house was not that cold. It is spring after all :)

I was and constantly am blessed with various miracles; those might be little, meaningless things to others, but so significant me!

Maybe this time God will grant me the miracle of hatching? Resurrecting my ducklings?

I will keep you guys post it.

I've heard of people who had long power outages have their eggs hatch anyway. So keep going.

Fingers crossed for you.

My thought is, the mama ducks will commonly get up to eat, drink, and take a quick swim while brooding - they aren't covered during that time, so I'm betting that they are going to be just fine!!!  :) Keep us posted and we'll want to see pictures!!

Mommy to BR (Onyx), 2 Delaware (Pearl & Opal), BO (Ruby), Blue Silkie (Amber), Splash Silkie (Raine), 2 Golden Laced Orps (Goldie & Lacey), 2 EE (Bunny & Rabbit) & 2 Blk Javas (Crow & Butterfly)!

Also a Pit/Mastiff mix, an American Bulldog, 1 cat, a guinea pig, a bearded dragon, and a koi pond.

Oh.. can't forget my daughter, granddaughter, step-son, and wonderful husband!
